Detailed information

Product detailed description

This Art Deco hood ornament was produced in Bohemia using original molds from the 1930s and designed by H. Hoffmann. The model was originally conceived as an automotive hood ornament, reflecting the sculptural tradition of European car mascots from the early 20th century.

Hoffmann was inspired by the work of René Lalique, whose influence shaped the French Art Deco aesthetic seen in many luxury automotive ornaments of the period. The stylized Pharaoh head with its winged form, strong profile and carefully modeled relief reflects this refined decorative language, combining ancient Egyptian symbolism with streamlined Art Deco design.

This example is made from yellow uranium glass and was intended for direct automotive mounting. Under UV light, the uranium glass exhibits a vivid green fluorescence, confirming its authentic composition. A distinctive collectible combining Art Deco design, uranium glass craftsmanship and historic automotive ornament heritage.
