Detailed information

Product detailed description

This Art Deco nude woman figural bowl was produced in Bohemia using original period molds created by H. Hoffmann around 1930. The composition depicts a nude female figure reclining in a bath, a motif characteristic of Art Deco decorative glass, where intimacy and elegance were combined with refined functional design.

The elongated rectangular bowl is shaped as a stylized bathtub, with the female figure integrated into the interior in low relief. Smooth flowing contours, simplified anatomy, and calm horizontal composition emphasize relaxation and sculptural restraint rather than overt realism. The figural treatment reflects broader French Art Deco influences, particularly the sculptural language associated with René Lalique, while remaining firmly grounded in Bohemian glassmaking tradition.

Made of yellow uranium glass, the bowl displays a vivid green glow when exposed to ultraviolet light, confirming its uranium glass composition. This piece is a highly collectible example of 1930s Art Deco figural glass, valued for its elegant bath scene, refined relief modeling, and strong UV reaction.
