Detailed information

Product detailed description

This Art Deco kneeling nude lady small bowl was produced in Bohemia using original period molds created by H. Hoffmann around 1930. It reflects the Art Deco fascination with the female form, where sculptural glass objects combined elegance, sensuality, and refined decorative function in compact formats.

The kneeling nude figure is modeled with smooth sculptural clarity, harmonious proportions, and softly defined anatomical details. The shallow bowl form above the figure is integrated naturally into the composition, echoing stylized organic forms associated with water lily motifs frequently used in Art Deco design. Flowing contours and balanced geometry demonstrate Hoffmann’s mastery of expressive figurative design. The sculptural language shows clear influence from French Art Deco aesthetics, particularly the figurative approach associated with René Lalique, while remaining firmly rooted in Bohemian glassmaking tradition.

Made of green uranium glass, the bowl displays a vivid green glow when exposed to ultraviolet light, confirming its uranium glass composition. This small bowl is a highly collectible Art Deco piece, valued for its refined figural design, strong UV reaction, and association with classic 1930s Bohemian uranium glass.
