Product detailed description
This Art Deco Speed Girl hood ornament was produced in Bohemia from original period molds designed by H. Hoffmann during the 1930s. The dynamic female figure with flowing hair embodies the speed, elegance, and optimism of the Art Deco automotive era.
The sculptural design shows strong French Art Deco influence, characterized by streamlined forms, aerodynamic movement, and an expressive forward motion typical of car mascots from the interwar period. Hoffmann’s modeling reflects inspiration associated with René Lalique–era automotive sculpture, while remaining distinctly Bohemian in execution.
Made of blue uranium glass, the hood ornament displays a vivid green UV glow under blacklight, confirming its uranium glass composition. With its striking color, strong UV reactivity, and iconic Speed Girl form, this piece is a highly desirable collectible for Art Deco car mascot and uranium glass collectors.
